Dry-ice shipments

  • Ship samples overnight

  • We strongly encourage samples to only be shipped on Mondays or Tuesdays and with more dry ice than you think you need to reduce risk of delays and associated risk of sample loss.
    • No one will be here to receive samples over the weekend.

  • Schedule samples to be delivered to UW between 9 AM - 3 PM PST

  • No one will be available to receive deliveries before 9 AM.
    • If samples are shipped for the early morning delivery, no one will be here to receive them, and the samples will be returned to a warehouse where we will be unable to collect them for storage.

  • Please confirm your shipping plans with the MacCoss lab before dropping samples in the mail.

Suggested shipping box for dry ice shipments

An example of what we often use to ship samples is these style of boxes: https://www.uline.com/BL_2157/Insulated-Shipping-Kits

16.75x16.75x15 or 12x12x11.5 (inches)

Depending on the number of samples, we advise 35-40 pounds of dry ice in the box.
