Public Panorama for DIA raw files? Steve Sweet  2018-08-21 06:48:36

Hi Panorama Support,

I see it is possible to upload raw files to Panorama, however the Public Panorama projects I clicked on only seemed to have .sky.zip files (presumably the Skyline results files). And the tutorial for Panorama Public doesn’t mention raw files. Is it preferable to use something like PRIDE at EMBL to upload raw files, or can raw files be uploaded alongside Skyline files in Panorama Public?

Our DIA raw files are fairly large: 20 GB in total; 0.5 to 1.5 GB per raw file.

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Steve,
Good question! We have just recently opened up Panorama for raw file deposition. That is why other data sets don't have it yet. But a few do. Such as:

https://panoramaweb.org/baker-ims.url
https://panoramaweb.org/study_9s.url

This first one has around 30 GB of Agilent IMS-TOF data files, which are 3.5 GB each. So, this is definitely what we are aiming to support to help people not have to store the supplementary data for their papers on two different services.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Hi Steve,

I haven't yet updated the Panorama Public tutorial, but the documentation pages have been updated to reflect that it is now possible to put raw data on Panorama Public. Here are the relevant links:

Submit Data to Panorama Public
Upload Raw Data

Let us know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Vagisha

I'll give it a try.
