Panorama Upload Error mdowns2  2017-12-12 11:07:24

Hi Panorama Support Team,

I recently attempted to upload a new Skyline document to one of our PanoramaWeb folders, but I received the error below. Could you please help me figure out what is causing the issue?

Thank you,
Melanie

Hi Melanie,

You are seeing this error because the name of the spectrum library in this document is longer than the 200 character limit set in the database. Are you able to shorten the name of the library? If not, let me know and I can increase the limit in the database.

You can see the name of the library in Skyline: Settings > Peptide Settings > Library tab. Click "Edit List" button, and in the "Edit Libraries" dialog select the library and click "Edit".

The current name is 255 characters:
2016-11-11_LysozymeDiscoForPRM (2016-12-19_LysozymePRM-Refined-2_70-140) (2017-01-22_LysozymePRM-70-140_Wine_dilution) (2017-11-03_Lysozyme-Wine_Spikes) (2017-12-06_Lysozyme-Wine_Spikes_pH_optimization) (2017-12-06_Lysozyme-Wine_Spikes_pH_optimization_MD

Thanks,
Vagisha

Hi Vagisha,

Yes, I was able to edit the library name and then the upload worked.

It seems like the library got renamed with additional text multiple times when the Skyline document was saved as new versions. Is there any way to keep that from happening?

Thanks,
Melanie

Hi Melanie,

Sorry for the late response. If you just do a "Save As.." and save the document with a different name does the new name get appended to the library name too? I am trying to reproduce this behavior locally with one of your files (2017-12-06_Lysozyme-Wine_Spikes_pH_optimization_MD_2017-12-12_10-53-51.sky.zip). But saving the file with a different name does not change the name of the library. If you could give me a list of steps that would reproduce this behavior that would be very helpful.

Thanks!
